With the safety of Women becoming an important topic of discussion throughout the country after the incidents at Delhi, we realised that as representatives of the student community, it was our duty to spread the message “Respect Women” to the society. Hence one of the first activities of the Union was an awareness rally along the main routes in Kothamangalam, with an aim to create atleast a small change in the attitude of the society at large. The rally began from the college and finished near the KSRTC stand and it was inaugurated by Dr. Lissy Jose, Chairperson of the Womens Commission. Almost 400 students from the college took part in the rally. At this point in time, on behalf of the College Union, I would like to thank everyone for their support towards this cause.

The activities of the Union were halted temporarily because of the Semester breaks. The official inauguration of the Union was held in February 2013 after the commencment of classes. Mr. Srinath Bhasi of Da Thadiya fame was the Chief Guest at the ceremony. It was also a stage for the students of our college to showcase their talents in the field of Music & Dance.

Next on the list of events was Sanskriti 2013. With an aim to make this the biggest Sanskriti ever, it was decided to conduct the fest on March 7,8 and 9. We are extremely happy that it infact turned out to be the biggest show in MACE ever. The highlight event of Sanskriti was a Pro Show by the famous singer Benny Dayal. At this point, I would like to extend our immense gratitude to our very dear Thomas George sir for guiding us throughout the venture. I would also like to specially congratulate the Music Club and Dance Club of our college for their brilliant performances.

With an aim to improve the technical knowhow of the students, the various department associations were also inaugurated in the following weeks. The Union would like to wish each Association all the very best for their future activities.

The College Magazine committee has been one of the most active groups in the college. With an aim to build a proper platform for the students to showcase their literary skills, this group has been working hard every day for the last few months. I would like to request everyone to co operate fully with all the activities of the Magazine Committee.

Before I conclude the report, I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few important people. Firstly, Dr. George Issac for his continuing support and words of wisdom at every point in time. Sir. I thank you. Next, our beloved Acy sir, Union staff in Charge for guiding us throughout this journey. Thank you very much sir. I would also like to thank Dr. Josephkunju Paul, Treasurer of the Union Fund and Dr. Shajan Kuriakose, former Union staff in charge for all their support.

The College Union has had to go through a lot of tough situations since taking charge. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for supporting us throughout these trying times. I apologise for any shortcomings from our part. We hope we were able to help you in some way atleast. Once again, on behalf of all the members of the College Union, I thank each and every one of you.

Thank You
